Established textile artists from anywhere in the world, working professionally in any textile medium, who wish to promote and exhibit their work at national and international levels.

Selection Process
Full membership selection happens in two stages:
Stage 1 – Digital Images
- A rotating panel of 62 Group members reviews submitted images. Applicants who receive a majority vote move to Stage 2. Results are sent by email.
Stage 2 – Physical Work
- A new panel (with one link member from Stage 1) reviews the physical work. Final decisions are made by majority vote and communicated by email.
All decisions are final, but unsuccessful applicants are welcome to reapply.
Selection Criteria
- Quality: Work should be made to a high professional standard and show consistency in finish and presentation.
- Originality: Your submission should reflect your own artistic voice and show a personal, thoughtful, and innovative approach.
- Coherence: The work should form a well-resolved and connected body, demonstrating clear ideas and direction.
- Knowledge of Materials and Techniques: Your work should show skill, care, and understanding of your chosen materials and techniques, with confident and professional execution.
Commitment
- Fees: The annual membership fee is currently £65 GBP Sterling (payable on 1st September annually) which covers the newsletter and AGM, as well as publications and organising of exhibitions. A separate non-refundable application fee is also required when submitting your membership application.
- Members must submit work regularly; failure to do so or to be selected for three consecutive years, ends membership. (More info>)
- The 62 Group works to a new theme or title for each yearly exhibition. All members are expected to submit work for every exhibition, and selection is made by a rotating panel of members, which changes with each exhibition cycle.
- If a member does not submit work, or their work is not selected for three consecutive exhibitions, their membership will be forfeited. This process ensures the continued artistic growth and vitality of the Group.

- The Group’s ongoing success depends upon your involvement. So, you should only apply if you are willing to play an active role in the administration of the Group.
- Roles include: assisting with membership applications, organising and hanging exhibitions, carrying out PR and social media, compiling newsletters, encouraging engagement and organising events for training/ widening participation.
