The theme of ‘Space’ tied in with the overall theme of Barnaby Arts Festival which runs in Macclesfield every 2 years. 62 Group members were invited to interpret the theme in its widest sense so you can see from the images of the exhibition there was a diverse response resulting in a varied and inspiring exhibition.
Making Space Workshop
To accompany the exhibition at the Silk Museum in Macclesfield 62 Group member Tilleke Schwarz ran a 2 Day Workshop on 2 & 3 September 2016.

The next stop for our Making Space exhibition was the Knitting & Stitching Show – Olympia, London from 2 to 5 March 2017.

‘Making Space’, our latest selected exhibition, is a varied and inspiring series of 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional work by exhibiting members of the 62 Group of Textile Artists. Inspired by the theme ‘Space’ members were invited to interpret the concept in its widest sense resulting in a diverse response. The work produced includes hand and machine stitch, print, weave, installation and mixed media inspired by textile techniques.
